The Secret History of Chicago Music info-strip runs every two weeks in the free weekly The Chicago Reader, which comes out every Wednesday. The musical segment/show runs the following Sunday eve on the Nick Digilio show on WGN 720 at midnight (technically Monday, but you get the idea). A book collection is in the works of the strips...cross yer fingers...
